county commissioner Diane Linn decided that the Oregon State Constitution guaranteed
the right to marry to same-sex couples. I was there as the first marriage certificates
were sold. Scores of couples lined up and waited in the rain for hours for the
opportunity to purchase one. It seemed that every reporter in town was there.
