Back from a Holiday Break. Summer and I just returned today from a trip East through
Washington and Montana. We spent New Year's Eve in Spokane where we went to the
First Night Celebration. Cities all around the country have started having First
Night's as a family-friendly alternative to traditional New Year's parties. Without
alcohol, venues all around a town will have performances of music, drama and exhibitions
of visual art. I have been to First Night's in Morristown, New Jersey, Missoula,
Montana, and now Spokane, Washington. I think that they are a great way to experience
the creative flavor of city.
