One of my favorite road trips is to take rt 200 across the Midwest. A small country road, it brings you through small towns over 100 miles away from the nearest interstate. Twice I have followed it all the way from Missoula, Montana, across Eastern Montana and North Dakota to Lake Itasca in Northern Minnesota. It is here that the Mississippi River starts is 2500 mile journey to the Gulf of Mexico. At it's source, the mighty river is a clear water creek shallow enough to wade across.
