Ever since I've been a photographer I've particularly enjoyed photographing
musicians. This was one of my early music photos, taken about 1989 in Baltimore.
Looking at it now, I see a lot of the same sensibility in the photo of Leroy
Vinegar (taken 10 years later) that I use on the home page of this site. I
also see a lot of progress, which makes me feel as though my efforts are worthwhile.
What is the progress--I think that this photo is all about the activity, while the
