  This photo was taken for a news story that was investigating the seemingly slow response of local law enforcement when it comes to solving minority murders.  Rev. Brown, pictured to the right, had a son shot down on the street of his Northeast Portland neighborhood over four years ago.  Thus far no arrest has been made in this case.  Rev. Brown said that he wanted to be photographed on MLK Blvd.   I asked his what he was hoping to portray in this image.  He answered "Strength and power."
