One of the First Night events in Missoula, Montana was that the towns carousel was giving free rides all New Year's Eve.  I remember when I first moved to Missoula the carousel was just one man's dream.  Five years later it was a reality, all the horses hand carved.  The first real carousel made in this country for several decades.  It is now open all year round in River Front Park in the heart of Missoula.
