Here is a picture of my parents taken candidly at a restaurant about seven years ago.  Photos like this appear to be very telling--but one of the wonders of photography is how human emotions can be taken out of context. An image that may tell the truth about one instant may be telling a lie for all other moments in that person's life.   Just as every portrait is a self portrait, every photograph is also telling a story--but it is telling the photographer's story, not the subjects'.
