Here is another photo from my days in Texas when I worked
as a Dorm Parent at the Texas School for the Deaf. Would you believe that this a
picture of a kid falling off a flag pole, and that I snapped the shutter a second before a
terrible tragedy? Well, the truth of the story is that I was walking the campus one day looking for photos as part of a project documenting one day in the life of Deaf Culture. I came upon a group of kids showing off their tumbling skills for each other. This middle school kid was very impressive with his ability to flip head over heals several feet off the ground. While it didn't look especially graceful, I was amazed at just how far he could fly. And, just to be clear, no one got hurt.
