My family and I

Jason E. Kaplan: About the Photographer

I’m so glad you got a picture of that, I didn’t even know you were there!

The world is a beautiful place, especially when seen through the eye of a camera lens! Although I'm fascinated by people, I've always been quite shy. I discovered photography at a young age and found the camera to be a tool that helped me open up to people and experience the world.

Photography has allowed me to see many things I might have otherwise missed. Taking pictures for a living means I get to meet amazing people and learn about their interesting lives. Photographs are a visual history of who we are and who we once were, they record memories that might otherwise fade away.

The photographer's job is that of the storyteller, to capture and preserve history. In order to best do my job, I limit the amount of equipment I take to each shoot. The photographer should not be a large factor in the experience of your wedding day. My favorite compliment is when someone tells me, "I'm so glad you got a picture of that. I didn't even know you were there!"
